Las Vegan Wagner caps big weekend with Legends win at Bullring...

Sixteen-year-old Las Vegas native Jeremiah Wagner was a busy young man last weekend. Wagner captured an exciting victory in the 25-lap 702graphics.com feature at the Bullring of Las Vegas Motor Speedway in a 24-car Legends Pro main event.

However, while the win in the season-opener at LVMS was significant, the victory was only part of an action-packed weekend.

Wagner’s week started on Wednesday displaying his Legends Car at his sponsor’s Frazee Paint Hot Rod Show at the Frazee Paint warehouse in southwest Las Vegas.

On Thursday, Wagner attended a career day at Alexander Dawson private school where he served as a spokesman for Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He spoke to several classes of students and teachers addressing the sport of auto racing.

Saturday’s activities included showing his Legends Car at the Touch a Truck event at the Orleans Hotel and Casino. As soon as the show concluded, Wagner reported to the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway where he qualified sixth for the evening’s race.

Earlier in the year, Wagner captured the Silver State Road Course race Feb. 14 on the outside road course at LVMS and followed with another victory in the U.S. Legends competition conducted after the Shelby American 350 NASCAR Sprint Series event Feb. 28 at the LVMS.

“I have had an exceptional year so far,” said Wagner, a junior at Northwest Career and Technical Academy who started his racing career running go-karts 11 years ago before going on to win numerous championships and a rookie of the year honor all in Legends competition. “The competition is really tough this year especially considering that everyone is going much faster.

“As an example, when Kyle Busch was running the Legends several years ago, they were turning 17.2 second laps and we’re now turning laps as low as 16.9 seconds.”
